Operating Concept

The Buddhist Retreat Centre Amden is run entirely on an honorary basis. The company group as well as friends from all over Switzerland and neighbouring countries share the work in their free time, for example as «On Duties» / day or half-day managers.

All guests of the Bellevue help with the operation for 1-2 hours a day and clean their own room on departure. On this basis the prices can be kept low. Therefore it is necessary to limit the retreat guests to practitioners of the Karma Kagyu Lineage.

In addition, various centers from near and far offer «host» weekends. (once a year, semi-annually and even monthly). They cook for the other guests of the house, so that the residents of the house and our house cook are relieved from time to time. These weekends create wonderful connections and friendships. Every centre is cordially invited.
