«Withdrawals should lead to experiencing the inherent joy and then being able to work better for others with body, speech and mind. In order to make the most of an increasingly precious time, it is useful to stay in an enlightened field that has already been built up.»Lama Ole Nydahl
Through meditation we get to know the mind, and a retreat of several days or even weeks creates more distance to things. Free from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, calm and insight are experienced more fluidly and deeply. The experiences of retreat and daily life will then be connected through the Diamond Way. Length and organization of a retreat are determined by each individual. For the less experienced, open retreats with two to four shorter sessions a day make sense.
Prerequisite for a retreat with us is the Buddhist refuge and the regular, longer visit of a Diamond Way Centre.
Retreats in our mountains
With this in mind, we would like to encourage and invite you to take advantage of our offer and immerse yourself in your meditation practice for a few days – for example in the beautiful forest retreat house.
Group and couples retreats
In this form of retreat the participants benefit from each other and the experiences of the individual automatically inspire all or the partner.
Our forest retreat house is also ideal for a couples retreat. Retreats are also possible in each of our rooms in the main house.
Meditating alone is highly concentrated. There are two possibilities: Open practice days, during which you help out during breaks in the centre, eat together with others and make use of the centre’s range of lectures and joint practice. In closed retreats you do not leave the room and do not talk to others – only after a few years of experience with diamondway meditation does it make sense. The food is brought to the room or you fetch it yourself in the kitchen, where it is provided.
Prerequisites for an individual retreat with us are the Buddhist refuge and the regular, longer visit to a Diamond Way center as well as a prior clarification with a teacher.
