Meditation

Buddhist meditation is a «laboratory situation» in which our mind learns to be conscious of itself. Like a visitor to the zoo, we do not learn to value the exciting phenomena that appear in our minds. The aim of meditation is to maintain this awareness in everyday life. So one day we will be the first to relax and laugh liberatingly when we behave seltam, diagonally or confused. We increasingly manage to avoid tragedies and enjoy the comedies of life. An inner steadfastness, a good mood and more humour, as well as a more relaxed and loving relationship with our fellow human beings, are the reward of persistent and regular meditation practice.

Our meditations are authentic exercises of the Karma Kagyu lineage and have been passed on from one generation to the next for about 900 years. The Diamond Way Centres are the place where we learn and practice these meditations together. Thanks to the translation into the German language, the meditations are easily accessible and can be used in everyday life without special previous knowledge.

Meditation in Buddhism means «staying in what is» effortlessly. One recognizes his disturbing feelings like anger, pride or jealousy, gets distance to them and can dissolve them. Meditation helps to be useful for other beings by developing compassion and wisdom.

In the meditations of Diamond Way Buddhism, one repeatedly adjusts to the perfect qualities of a Buddha until one realizes that they are inherent in one and that one can show them in everyday life. The perfect qualities of a Buddha include fearlessness, joy, and compassion.
