Retreat room

Meditating in one’s own room is indispensable for meditators in a closed retreat and is also desired by some in an open retreat. All our rooms are suitable for this; our new forest retreat house is particularly suitable for closed retreats.

We offer a special kind of «room service» to meditators in a closed retreat: we place the food in front of the room three times a day if desired.

Meditation rooms

We have two «Gompas» (meditation rooms) where you can meditate together or for yourself. There is also the possibility to meditate at the stupa, in the forest or in one of the small forest caves. In the big gompa the lectures take place on weekends.

Mats and cushions are available in the Gompa as well as in the Stupa for outdoor use.

Forest retreat house

With the great help of energetic Swiss sangha members and German and Austrian friends, we completed the forest retreat house almost completely on our own in autumn 2011. For this we would like to thank all of you very much, also for the generous financial support of the donors to the Amdo Dzong project.

Our new retreat jewel in the forest has been available for your retreats for over two years now. The friends who have meditated there so far have all been thrilled by the peace and quiet, but also by the large retreat rooms, the room-high windows to the small forest clearing with wildlife visits and the clear style with the naturally oiled oak floors. Many have noticed how quickly they could dive into their retreat. By the way – also during the construction weeks an undisturbed retreat is guaranteed. On request with hot and tasty meals in front of the door.

The same rates apply as in our other rooms. Here you can also benefit from the significant reductions for longer stays – staggered prices from the 3rd night onwards. (single or double room). Please tick the appropriate box when making your reservation.
